The Hoops will Travel to face St. Johnstone on Saturday for the first time since December when they walked away from McDiarmid Park 3-1 victors.

Although the scoreline suggests a comfortable festive-period win for the Bhoys, their triumph on that frosty afternoon was far from it.

1-0 down at half-time, the Scottish Premiership champions performed well below par in the opening 45.

Goals from McGregor, Matt O’Riley, and James Forrest eventually turned the tide, but only after boss Rodgers gave his side a rollicking at the break.

Indeed, ahead of his side’s return to Perth this weekend, skipper McGregor has reflected back on the December clash.

He was asked yesterday if it was the angriest he had seen his manager.

“Oh for sure, aye, absolutely,” he said (Glasgow Times).

“It was a bit of a difficult day and we managed to turn it around in the end.

“But, again, it’s another lesson. If you don’t do your work properly, if you don’t do all the small details, if you don’t earn the right to win, then any Game can be difficult.

“The players understand that and the full focus this week is about this Game. We want to try and get a positive result, positive performance and then take it into the midweek Game as well.”

Celtic face an arduous trio of Games over the coming week, starting with their trip to Perth on Saturday night.

The Bhoys then Travel to Germany midweek to face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League before heading to the Highlands to play Ross County next Sunday.

After a solid few days of preparations this week, Rodgers will want his side in tip-top condition going into the matches to avoid any more rage-filled half-time rants.
