Celtic Park has always been heralded as one of the most unique atmospheres to play in across world football.

Famously, the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Samuel Eto’o have all waxed lyrical about playing in Glasgow’s east end in the past, especially when supporters pack out the stadium on European nights to generate a wall of noise [talkSPORT].

Granted, as a fan, results on the continent are the main concern for everyone involved; however, there is something special about Parkhead when it is rocking that many greats of the Game have come to realise.

Despite club Football taking a seat on the backburner during the off-season, the new campaign will soon arrive, presenting Celtic with another crack at the Champions League.

For now, the break takes precedence; nevertheless, a Bundesliga champion has become the latest notable figure to complement the Parkhead faithful.

Jonas Hofmann’s admission after playing at Celtic Park

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Jonas Hofmann has enjoyed a wonderful season in Germany, playing his part in Xabi Alonso’s men claiming a historic Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double for the first time in their history.

Speaking to popular German TikTok figure FIAGO, Hofmann has now revealed that Celtic Park is home to the ‘craziest fans’ he has ever seen during his career.

He stated when pressed on the subject: “Of course, the fans of Celtic, Glasgow. We played there with (Borussia) Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

“This atmosphere was unbelievable. I only saw the faces of the guys, and they were shouting and shouting and it was unbelievable.”

Hofmann then added when asked if it was an intimidating atmosphere: “Absolutely, yeah crazy, yeah.”

Finishing off, he said when FIAGO queried him on whether he should check it out for himself: “Of course, yeah.”

Monchengladbach brought phenomenal support that night, from what I recall; however, it is great to see Celtic’s atmosphere widely recognised further afield by yet another reputable player.

Hopefully, there can be some special nights in Europe on the horizon next season as the club prepare to do battle in the Champions League.
