Brendan Rodgers Reveals Who’s To Blame For Poor First-half
Brendan Rodgers spoke post-match against Falkirk about the disastrous first half, which saw John McGlynn’s side lead 2-1 at half-time.
In the end, Celtic turned it around in the second half, with Nicolas Kühn and Adam Idah each bagging a brace.
Kühn provided two assists for Idah’s double, highlighting their impressive partnership.
However, Rodgers spoke honestly about who’s to blame for the first half failure.
He said:(BBC Sportsound),”If there’s any blame on the first hour, it’s on me, I make the changes.
“It’s a challenge for the guys coming in and I thought they gave everything. The players show a real hunger to work hard.”
Rodgers took a risk with the starting 11, with Álex Valle, Luis Palma, and James Forrest all substituted early in the second half.
Their early substitutions indicated that Rodgers felt he could change the Game from the bench, and this was certainly the case, with Nicolas Kühn proving to be a Game changer.
Given the poor first-half showing, the Irishman may not be as willing to make as many changes in future, as it led to Falkirk looking the better side before the break.
However, with a busy few months ahead, Rodgers will rotate on occasion but likely not to the same extent of eight changes from midweek.
