Aston Martin cautious over 'dream' of Alonso third title
Aston Martin boss Mike Krack feels that the squad should "not start to dream" about the possibility of Fernando Alonso winning a third F1 World Championship.
Alonso has secured podium finishes in all of the opening rounds of the 2023 season, leading to some fans – and even Max Verstappen – backing the Spaniard to take a 33rd race win in the sport, nearly 10 years on from his last victory.
While Alonso is the oldest driver on the grid at 41 years old, Krack is not concerned about this being a factor.
"I think the most important [thing] is the speed and the desire to compete or the desire to be competitive," Krack told media, including TheFOXposts.Com.
"I don't like to speak about age, about Fernando's age, about my age also by the way.
"In general, I think it is really important how you keep yourself fit, how you keep yourself in, and what is your desire to do well, and this is something outstanding that Fernando is having."

Aston Martin keeping feet on ground over title dreams
On the prospect of Aston Martin helping Alonso to secure a third title – following on from his back-to-back championships with Renault in 2005 and 2006 – Krack admits that he would be thrilled to see this happen.
However, he does not want the team to "dream" about such a possibility.
"I would really be happy if we could provide the car for him to gain this third title, but I think we need to keep our feet a bit more on the ground, speaking about [a] world title," Krack added.
"We have made now our first step in progressing to where we were before and we should not start to dream."
Alonso currently sits third in the World Championship standings, while Aston Martin hold second place in the Constructors'.
