The record signing has played three Games for the Hoops, one of which was a derby, and another was Celtic’s biggest-ever Champions League win.

The young Celtic star, who made his Bundesliga debut as a teenager at the Signal Iduna Park with Augsburg, is eager to return to that same stadium with Celtic in the Champions League.

Celtic are set for the trip to Germany next week, with the Game on Tuesday night.

During his debut, Engels experienced the formidable atmosphere of Dortmund’s home ground, which boasts over 81,000 fans, with 25,000 in the Yellow Wall.

He recounted the atmosphere to RecordSport, saying: “I made my debut for Augsburg there in Dortmund. It was directly in front of 80,000 people. It was crazy. But it did bring the best out of me. It’s the same here. It’s the same noise, even louder sometimes. It’s going to be really good and helpful for me.

“Yeah, the atmosphere can be intimidating, but it’s also intimidating here. It’s also nice to play here. You have the fans with you and not against you. That’s also a different feeling and a really nice feeling.”

Celtic have started their Champions League campaign off well, securing their first-ever opening match in the comPetition. It was a great performance from the Scottish champions as they cruised to a 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava.

Dortmund also got off to winning ways, defeating Club Brugge 3-0.

It’s going to be no easy Game for Celtic, but Brendan Rodgers’ side will be going into the match high with confidence.

No doubt there will be a few players questioning Arne Engels on the side and their famous Yellow Wall.
