Dead Space's Co-Creator Thanks Motive For Its "Faithful" Remake

Dead Space's co-creator, Glen Schofield, has shared a post on LinkedIn that congratulates the team at Motive and thanks it for faithfully" remaking the Game.

When the Dead Space remake was first revealed, there was a bit of a mixed reaction to seeing EA revive a dormant series from a developer that it had previously made the decision to shut down. Dead Space's co-creator, Glen Schofield, has previously said that he felt "bummed" about not being involved with the remake and found it weird for a team to try and improve on his work, but he seems to have made some peace now that the remake has released.

As reported by PCGamesN, Nicole Schofield, an environment artist at Striking Distance Studios, shared a post on LinkedIn calling the release of the Dead Space remake a "strange, bittersweet moment" due to the Game's unsuccessful launch but strong faNBAse and how it's resurfaced thanks to Motive's remake.

Glen Schofield, who is the co-creator of Dead Space and now works as CEO of Striking Distance Studios, commented on the post, thanking those who worked on the 2008 release of the game, noting that it has stood the test of time. Schofield also congratulated the team at Motive and thanked them for remaking Dead Space "faithfully".

Schofield said, "To all of you who worked on the original, thank you for your contributions to an amazing Game. It has withstood the test of time. And to Motive, thank you for your care in remaking the Game faithfully. Congratulations."

Although Schofield may not have had the chance to remake his own creation, he did form Striking Distance Studios and create The Callisto Protocol, a space-themed survival horror that isn't shy about its inspirations. Although The Callisto Protocol didn't see quite as much critical success as the Dead Space remake and seems unlikely to meet its goal of selling five million copies any time soon, it saw some praise for how it recaptured Dead Space's energy.
